Welcome to the Dome Tents page, for the most modern and easy to use tent you should buy a dome tent.
This is because they have many advantages over the framed tents such as being easy to erect and being very aerodynamic and so resilient to any weather that the UK can throw at them. Dome tents use bendy, fibreglass poles that are often colour coded and so very easy to put up, they usually have an inner tent which the poles attach to and hold up and then an outer tent which goes over the poles which provides the main protection of the tent. The inner tent usually has a built-in ground sheet which also makes the tent very easy to use and they also usually have a porch at the front of the tent which provides useful storage space.
Some large dome tents use more than one dome and so provide two or more rooms in the tent which is great for large families. Some of these large dome tents are huge and look very cool and modern, all dome tents look very modern and slick but the large ones can cleverly incorporate tunnels and domes to create some very nice designs.
One drawback of dome tents is the space though as they do not offer the same internal head room of the framed tents. This is due to the aerodynamic nature of the dome tent design and so the middle of the dome has the highest head room and from there it gets lower in every direction. So if head room is important to you and you have allot of people using the tent then a dome tent can be a problem but they are still fine to use in most circumstances and the other advantages far outweigh the lack of head space.
