We also include an image and the price of the tent and check these on a regular basis and so we feel that this web site is the best recourse for finding and buying a cheap tent as the cheap deals are very easy to find and we feature a huge selection of tents.
There are several things to look for when you buy a tent and they include:
Capacity
The amount of people that the tent can hold is the most important thing for most people who buy a tent. The smallest tents are usually 2 person tents and they can go all the way up to over 10 people for the huge family tents, you should know roughly how many people will be using the tent but it never hurts to have a tent that is a little too large as the extra space is always very nice.
Rooms
Many tents have more than one room and so you can easily have some privacy on your camping holiday. The rooms are part of the same tent but simply separated by wall or are often at opposite ends of the tent and separated by a middle room, some tents have 3 or 4 rooms and can accommodate lots of people.
Dome or Framed
There are two main types of tent and they are the dome and framed tents. A dome tent is curved and uses bendy poles to support the tent, dome tents are very aerodynamic and so ideal for adventure holidays although they are also a very popular choice with people on camping holidays. This is because they are easy to erect and are also cheap these days, they also look very nice and more modern than the framed tents and so this also makes them more popular.
The framed tents are the old fashioned tents that have a frame that has to be constructed with the tent placed over this. They can be better than the dome tents though and this is especially true if you wish to buy a large tent as the framed tents are generally more spacious.
Doors and Windows
It is always nice to have more than one entry point to the tent and this is especially true of the larger tents. It is also very nice to have windows although these are not often found in the sleeping area of a tent, they can be very nice in the main area of a tent though as they let light into the tent.
Groundsheet
The ground sheet is the floor of the tent and prevents any contact with the ground while you are sleeping in the tent. Some tents have the ground sheet attached to the tent and so there is no need to worry about laying the groundsheet but with some tents the groundsheet is separate and so has to be laid as you erect the tent.
Colour Coded Poles
To make erecting the tent more easy many tents have colour coded poles so that you can easily see how the poles should be connected. This is especially useful on large, framed tents as the dome tents are relatively simple.
Porch
Most tents have a porch or storage area but many cheap tents to not and so check for this if you are buying a cheap tent and would like a porch included with your tent.
